Driver crashes into parked vehicles and then calls police to lie car was stolen

This is the moment a driver crashed into another car and then got out and ran away.

CCTV footage showed James Baker, 24, smashing into a parked vehicle at the junction of Barcroft Street and Brereton Avenue, Cleethorpes, on April 19 last year.

He also hit another car that spun out of control.

But rather than checking no-one was injured he decided to leg it from the scene, with two of his passengers also leaving.

Baker then tried to cover up his role in the accident by ringing up the police from a pay phone and pretending his car had been stolen from a garage after he had boasted about it.
