AWAL Telecom in collaboration with one of Pakistan’s largest cellular operator — Jazz has recently achieved the milestone of providing mobile phone services to the people of South Waziristan — a long-deprived and war-weary region of the country.
As per the details reported by Pakistan Today, AWAL Telecom has finally fulfilled long-standing demand of the people of Wana — the headquarter of South Waziristan. The telecom company has successfully launched the cellular mobile services on its tower infrastructure to link the communications division of the people of South Waziristan for the first time.
AWAL Telecom’s spokesperson, Mr. Khurram Shehzad while giving his remarks on this great achievement stated;
“Telecommunication and connectivity are the key factors of sustainable economic development of the FATA areas which were long-deprived of these pivotal elements. And AWAL Telecom is the only Tower Company which has taken this initiative to light up these areas by establishing Telecom Tower Infrastructures to provide a ready platform to the cellular operators for launching their services.”
It is important to mention here that during rising tensions on the active borders of the country, the presence of the communication facility to the remotes and tele-deprived inhabitants of FATA has further affirmed their patriotic spirits. These people will now remain connected with the rest of the country.
AWAL Telecom has played an important role in the development of infrastructure completion, connectivity, and services provisioning in Wana. Shehzad affirmed that AWAL’s services are expected to reach more areas of South Waziristan and North Waziristan district very soon.
