National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Science and Technology has recently approved/ endorsed Rs. 3.9 billion budget for FY 2019-20 demanded by the Ministry of Science and Technology and its attached departments. The amount approved by the committee will be spent on the projects led by the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP).
A press release by National Assembly details that the second meeting of the Standing Committee on Science and Technology was held in Islamabad on Tuesday. The Committee thoroughly discussed the budgetary proposals of the Ministry of Science and Technology for the current Financial Year 2019-20 and confidently allocated an amount of Rs. 3.9 billion.
Moreover, the committee was extensively briefed about the performance and working of the ministry and its attached departments in previous years. The approved budget to PSDP for FY 2019-20 would greatly impact the technology startups ecosystem of the country and will empower various government departments to use innovative tools of technology.
Key officials of Sci-Tech Ministry and MNAs including Engr. Usman Khan Tarakai, Mr. Jawad Hussain, Ch. Shoukat Ali Bhatti, Mr. Umer Aslam Khan, Mr. Farrukh Habib, Mr. Abdul Shakoor Shad, Ms. Sobia Kamal Khan, Ch. Muhammad Ashraf, Ms. Zaib Jaffar, Ms. Samina Matloob, Mr. Khursheed Ahmed Junejo, Mr. Sikandar Ali Rahoupoto and Mr. Naveed Aamir Jeeva participated in the meeting.
