Last week I did an article on a supposed poster of the Note 9 being leaked. An image of the poster was posted by IceUniverse, who is accredited as being one of the most reliable leakers in the tech industry worldwide. That poster showed a blue Note 9 with a yellow-ish golden S-Pen (stylus). However, that image wasn’t really high quality and hardly qualified as a press render; that gap has now been filled.
Another industry insider, Evan Blass has shared an official press render. The render gives us a clear shot of what the upcoming flagship Phablet from the Korean giant will look like. This render confirms the rumors that the Note 9 will not have an in-display fingerprint and will have a sensor placed below the dual-lens camera setup on the back. This is sort of alarming for me as I’m someone who ALWAYS managed to smudge the camera lens up whenever I had a phone with a fingerprint sensor anywhere remotely near the camera.
One of the most attractive things (for me) is the further reduction in the bezels on the chin. God, this phone looks drop dead gorgeous! Samsung has managed to perfect the use of the Infinity Display once again and frankly, I’m in love. The phone’s back has been kept simplistic (or at least it seems so). There isn’t too much jargon or complications present on the back, just the camera setup and the fingerprint sensor below it.
On the contrary though, looking at the picture, I feel like handling the phone will be quite a headache. Although the edges are curved, I don’t think a significant difference will be made. Pair this with the fact that the back will most likely be of glass, get ready to welcome the constant fear of the phone slipping from your hand.
The S-Pen is confirmed to have a matte bottom with a shiny effect near the tip. Additionally, the bottom of the S-Pen can be seen having the same blue shade seen in the mobile itself, which might be aimed at merging it with the phone when it’s not in use/in the phone.
Rumors regarding the phablet have been floating around for quite some time now and like previous times, industry insiders have managed to reveal Samsung’s flagship phone in front of the public before the company reveals it themselves. Considering the Note 9 is expected to be priced near the $1000 mark, will you be buying it?
