Whatsapp is the most popular messaging app in the world. As reported in one of my previous stories, it has around 1.5 billion active users. Also, you probably might be familiar with its voice note feature. But here, I am going to tell you about a feature of WhatsApp that you might not have been aware of before – playing WhatsApp audio messages privately.
Most of the time, when your friend sends you an audio note on WhatsApp and you don’t have an access to headphones, it feels like your phone goes to blast out the message loudly and everyone around you can hear it. However, there’s a little trick to listen to your audio messages a lot more private.
When you receive a voice message, tap on it as you normally do to get it playing. As soon as it starts, take your phone near your ear immediately. The app will detect that your head against your device, and will automatically switch to playing the recorded message through your device’s internal speaker. That’s the one you use typically when you make a voice phone call. In another case, you can also use your headphones but make sure they are plugged in before you start playing an audio note.
Earlier in April, we reported another interesting in fact much-awaited feature that Whatsapp introduced “Locked Recordings” button, as well as ‘Preview Recordings’ on its beta, build version 2.18.71 that many of us have been waiting for since a long time now. This feature will enable the possibility to record voice messages without having to hold down the record button. You can read more about these features here.
