‘Anxiety, depression and finding my happy place on the back of a motorbike’ – Henry Crew joins us on mental heath podcast Mentally Yours

‘Self-harm’s been a massive thing within my friendship group. I’ve had friends who’ve had real issues with that.

‘I think we’ve all found different ways to self-harm – whether it develops itself through cutting or abusing alcohol or substances or just generally treating your body like absolute rubbish.’

Henry Crew joined us on this week’s episode of Metro’s weekly mental health podcast, Mentally Yours.

He talked about his anxiety and depression, as well as how motorcycling is among the things that helps him feel better.

‘Any time I felt stressed I’d go for a ride,’ he said.

‘When I got into motorbikes and started riding motorbikes it was an escape for me, a distraction and, yeah, like my happy place.’

Now Henry’s attempting to become the youngest person to circumnavigate the world by motorcycle – 35,000 miles over the next year through at least 35 countries – in aid of Movember.
