Virginia Woolf has got herself her very own Google Doodle to celebrate her 136th birthday.
Born on January 25 1882 in Kensington, Virginia would have been 136 today. She died by suicide on 28 March 1941 in Lewes.
Virginia – whose full name was Adeline Virginia Woolf – is considered to be one of the greatest authors of Great Britian.

Virginia was a renowned author.
Her father was historian and critic Sir Leslie Stephen and her mother was Julia Stephen.

Her love of writing can be attributed to her father. She grew up in a home which had its own library and was used to many visitors visiting her historian dad.
Woolf suffered mental health problems during her career and following her mother’s death in 1895, when Virginia was just 13, she began writing.
