The famous singer and songwriter from the US has been listed as the most influential person on Twitter from 2018 while tweeting only 13 times the whole year.
According to a social-media analytics company, Brandwatch, Taylor Swift has been termed as the most influential user to exist and influence on Twitter during the past year. The social-media watcher company mentioned that Taylor Swift was able to grab an influencer score of 98 out of a perfect score of a hundred.
The analytics company further noted that it didn’t simply note the number of tweets made by the users as a lot more goes into determining which user raked maximum influence on the user-base as available on Twitter. It mentioned that different metrics were used to determine the genuine engagement a user had caused. “While lots of followers, retweets and replies will help, the more influential the people they engage with, the better the score,” Gemma Joyce who has been associated with Brandwatch as a data journalist told in a blog post.
Taylor Swift was followed by Liam Payne, a former artist from the famous singing band One Direction who has since then turned into a solo artist. The US-President Donald Trump was also not very far behind and came in at the third spot securing 96 points.
Social Media has come to be a very important platform as the digital age has set in. More and more millennials and GenZs have started spending a considerable time of their days watching screens, social media makes for a significant portion. Seeing the popularity of this medium, more and more businesses and influencers have started giving importance to this medium.
