The OnePlus 6 was announced last month with a number of surprises. One of those surprises was an early Android P beta while another came in the form of a security vulnerability. Even with a locked bootloader, it was possible to boot any arbitrary boot image so long as an attacker had physical access to the device and a PC to connect to. A fix for this came in OxygenOS 5.1.7, but because of issues, the update wasn’t released in the region. Now, OxygenOS 5.1.8 is available for all and it brings the aforementioned bootloader vulnerability fix for Indians and a few other optimizations.
