Nearly every Philips Android TV device will get Android Oreo

With Android P on the horizon, many Android TVs are only now starting to get the update to Android Oreo. The Xiaomi Mi Box got it the other day, and the Nvidia Shield TV only got it a few weeks prior to that. Now Philips is getting around to updating its Android TVs too. Nearly all of their TVs as far back as 2014 will be updated to the latest version of Android TV, according to a report from Toengels Philips Blog. Android Oreo for Android TV boxes brings all of the features you’ve come to expect from this particular version of Android. On top of that, you also get a brand new redesigned UI which you can check out a video of down below.

On top of that, you’ll also get the latest security enhancements, HDR video support, and Picture in Picture mode. Users can expect to see the OTA update arrive at their TVs in the coming months for the models listed above. Very few Philips TVs aren’t getting the update, but be sure to check your TV against the list above to confirm whether you’ll receive it or not. If your TV isn’t on the list, don’t worry yet. You can check out the models below that may be getting it but aren’t confirmed yet.
