Mark Hamill demands Star Wars fans ‘get a life’ as Kelly Marie Tran leaves social media after months of abuse

Mark Hamill has told the Star Wars fandom to ‘get a life’ after they drove The Last Jedi star Kelly Marie Tran off social media.

Sharing a picture of himself with Kelly, who played Rose Tico in 2017’s episode VIII, Mark simply wrote: ‘What’s not to love? #GetALifeNerds.’

Kelly decided to delete all of her Instagram pictures after she was left unable to deal with the amount of abuse she received from so-called fans of the franchise.

She received fierce and loud backlash from small corners of the fandom for her appearance and her performance in the film; Tran is Vietnamese-American and was the first woman of colour to play a lead role in the iconic series.
