The Federal Government of Pakistan has taken the decision to provide modern electronic wheelchairs to handicapped students belonging to universities across the county. The disbursement of wheelchairs will be launched under Prime Minister’s Youth Program and can be availed by students hailing from public sector universities of the country. The commendable decision will help ensure social inclusion at local campuses where students are provided with equal opportunities regardless of their physical limitations.
The decision was announced on Twitter by the Press Information Department of Government of Pakistan.

While the official website of Prime Minister’s Youth Program has yet to make an announcement, it can be acknowledged that the decision has just been announced and will properly be launched to offer detailed insight after the consolidation of all stakeholders involved.
Just last year Pakistan was ranked as one of the worst countries for education and skill development. Therefore, the effort of the Government is commendable to empower youth with such programs that offer inclusivity to develop capacity, be it higher education or in-demand skill sets. Such programs include reimbursement of fees for students belonging to under-developed areas of Pakistan, skill-based training for unemployed youth, and the 21st Century Global Skills Initiative.
