From Instagram pressures to the debate over armpit hair, women have to bear the brunt of ridiculously high beauty standards.
To combat this, a new photographic campaign, ‘In Our Skin’ feature a range of diverse women telling their own stories about their bodies, identity and struggles they have overcome.
Topics addressed by the women featured in the campaign include vitiligo, albinism and wearing the hijab.
Commissioned by Stoosh, an online platform for Muslim women in the UK, the photos feature a range of diverse women telling their own stories about their bodies, identity and struggles they have overcome.
Fatemah Dhanji, a Stoosh contributor, said the campaign was created to ‘encourage BAME women to feel confident and empowered.
‘All the women that took part in the photo series remind us that learning to embrace the struggles we have with our bodies and expressing ourselves freely can be the driving force behind our achievements, happiness and success in every aspect of life,’ she told Metro.co.uk.
