Windows 10 was launched a couple of years back and Microsoft did something very exceptional with its launch. For the first time in history, Microsoft offered free Windows 10 upgrade for its users on Windows 7, 8 or 8.1. Microsoft carried out the offer for more than a year and ended it in July last year for general users. But the company continued to offer free Windows 10 upgrade to those users who use Microsoft accessibility features.
Windows Accessibility features are some options in Windows which help users who may have some problems using their Windows normally. Today, Microsoft announced that free Windows 10 upgrade offer for those who use assistive features will end on December 31st. Which means that this is your last chance to upgrade to Windows 10 for free. After that, it will cost you more than a hundred dollars. Microsoft did not give any reason why it is ending the free upgrade support now.
As mentioned, Windows 10 free upgrade program was introduced with the launch of Windows 10. It enabled Microsoft to boost Windows 10 market share. Windows 10 quickly crossed Windows 8 and 8.1 in terms of market share because of this offer. It is now installed on around 30% devices but still unable to beat Windows 7 which has a market share of around 46%. It looks like Windows 7 users love it so much that they are not even accepting a free Windows upgrade offer.
Are you planning to upgrade to Windows 10 or will you purchase it after the free upgrade offer ends?
