Michaela Strachan reveals the worst part of her breast cancer diagnosis was telling her partner

Michaela Strachan has opened up about her battle against breast cancer, revealing that the worst moment was having to break the news of her diagnosis to her partner Nick.

The TV presenter underwent a double mastectomy in 2014 after being diagnosed with breast cancer during a routine mammogram – and she revealed on Thursday’s Loose Women how that check-up changed her life.

And she revealed just how difficult it was telling Nick the news – as he had previously lost his first wife to colon cancer

‘The thought of having to tell my partner I have cancer was awful, awful – because however supportive he wanted to be, in the back of his mind he thought “I lost my first partner [to cancer]”.

‘And his three grown-up children had to go through it all again too which was not nice.’
